The Inchelium Hornets posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Mary Walker out 53-50. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Inchelium also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Mary Walker's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andru Pinyan, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Pinyan continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Gavin Lawrence was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Inchelium has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Mary Walker, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.
Inchelium will head out on the road to square off against Wellpinit at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wellpinit is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Mary Walker, Mary Walker and Selkirk will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Selkirk is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
