St. Helens' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Seaside with a sharp 13-0 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Eme Curaming was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, St. Helens let Jadyn Pense and Addy Ellis run wild. Pense went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Ellis went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave Pense a new career-high. Maddy Lahey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Astoria faced Scappoose in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Fishermen fell just short of the Indians by a score of 3-2. The Fishermen's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Astoria saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Svensen, who went 1-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
St. Helens' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Astoria, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-3-1.
