Lambert is 0-5 against Milton since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lambert Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Milton Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Lambert humbled South Forsyth with a 49-7 victory. Given Lambert's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 40th, while South Forsyth is ranked 193rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Milton never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Denmark 48-0 at home. Winning may never get old, but Milton sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milton to victory, but perhaps none more so than CJ Wiley, who picked up 183 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Wiley's longest reception was for an incredible 99 yards. Tj Lester was in the mix too, providing Milton with two touchdowns.
Lambert's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 South Forsyth and 2-8 Dawson County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 27.2% over those games). As for Milton, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Lambert came up short against Milton in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 31-21. Thankfully for Lambert, Scott Moskowitz (who rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
