North Callaway is 8-2 against the Wildcats since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing isn't great for North Callaway: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while the Wildcats have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
North Callaway lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Higbee on the road and fell 77-46. While losing is never fun, North Callaway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while the Tigers are ranked 183rd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sam Pezold, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isiah Craighead, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wright City earned a 60-51 win over the Owls on Friday.
North Callaway has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Wright City, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-8.
North Callaway took their victory against the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 63-37. Will North Callaway repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
