The Billingsley Bears's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged Verbena out 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Landon Jones was a one-man wrecking crew for Billingsley as he scored 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hudson Manning, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Billingsley's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Verbena, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Billingsley will head out on the road to challenge the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Maplesville will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Verbena does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
