The Buchanan Bears put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Santa Ynez 80-40 on the road. Fans of Buchanan have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
When it comes to explaining why Santa Ynez lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Mendoza. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Ollenburger, who scored 6 points.
Buchanan's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Santa Ynez, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buchanan will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Lynbrook at 7:45 p.m. on December 7th. Lynbrook will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 709th, while Buchanan is ranked 18th). As for Santa Ynez, they will head out on the road to face off against Righetti at 6:30 p.m. on December 11th.
