It was a good run, but the Horizon Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Monarch by a score of 66-64. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Horizon has suffered yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Horizon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Greene. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Greene, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Monarch got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Carlson out in front who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Carlson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Graham Johnson, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Monarch, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
