The Wray Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-38 win over Holyoke on the road. That 34 points margin sets a new team best for Wray this season.
Leading Wray to victory were Sydnee Cheek and Sharon Greek. Cheek scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Greek scored 11 points along with five assists and two steals. Cheek continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Gillham, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Ellie Kleve and Anessa Colglazier certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Kleve dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Colglazier scored five points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Colglazier has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
The win got Wray back to even at 6-6. As for Holyoke, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Wray and Y will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive. As for Holyoke, they will head out on the road to face off against Perkins County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
