There's no place like home for The Hanks Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-19 victory over Ysleta on Friday. For Hanks, this counts as revenge for the 28-10 loss Ysleta walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
It was another big night for Michael Oliver, who rushed for 221 yards and two touchdowns. Oliver is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Porras, who rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown.
Hanks' win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Horizon and 2-8 Burges (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34% over those games). As for Ysleta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Hanks will head out on the road to face off against Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Abilene will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Ysleta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
