Even though the Eagleville Eagles have not done well against the Community Vikings/Viqueens recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Eagleville came out on top against Community by a score of 49-39. The victory was familiar territory for Eagleville who now have three in a row.
Despite the loss, Community saw an underclassman step up: Anna Haskins scored 19 points. The contest was Haskins' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa White, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.
Eagleville pushed their record up to 6-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Community, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Eagleville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mt. Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Community, they will head out on the road to face off against Huntland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Huntland is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
