Valley Forge has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Padua Franciscan Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Valley Forge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Valley Forge was the victim of a tough 49-29 defeat at the hands of the Rockets.
Despite their loss, Valley Forge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Taylor Patrick, who scored eight points along with two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. It was the first time this season that Patrick posted two or more blocks. Mikayla Hoang was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Padua Franciscan earned a 40-30 victory over the Cougars on Friday. The victory was just what Padua Franciscan needed coming off of a 86-32 loss in their prior game.
Valley Forge has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Padua Franciscan, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
Valley Forge took a serious blow against the Bruins in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, falling 51-22. Can Valley Forge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
