Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Monroe Academy, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They received a tough blow last Thursday as they fell 65-46 to Morgan Academy. Monroe Academy has struggled against Morgan Academy recently, as their contest last Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Bessemer Academy pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Monroe Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything came up roses for Bessemer Academy against Monroe Academy in their previous matchup last Monday as the team secured a 79-25 win. With Bessemer Academy ahead 38-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
