The Alief Elsik Rams lost against the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Alief Elsik suffered a tough 67-47 defeat at the hands of Pasadena Memorial. While losing is never fun, Alief Elsik can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 772nd, while Pasadena Memorial is ranked 64th).
Despite the loss, Alief Elsik still got an impressive performance from Ricky Wilson, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Ofesi, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Pasadena Memorial was led to victory by Robert Miller lll and Chris Jones Jr.. Miller lll dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Jones Jr. scored 28 points along with six rebounds. Miller lll is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bredyn Gilbreath, who scored seven points.
Alief Elsik's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Pasadena Memorial, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Alief Elsik is on the road again on Saturday and play against Clear Springs at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Pasadena Memorial will take on Alief Taylor in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at. Alief Taylor has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
