Ketcham is 0-5 against White Plains since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Storm will face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Ketcham and Arlington have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Storm won by a run and slipped past the Admirals 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Admirals: they've now won three in a row.
Meanwhile, White Plains waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Huskies a 14-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Alexis Tighe was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Ava Galligani was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Olivia Doria was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
White Plains kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.
White Plains pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Ketcham, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Ketcham came up short against White Plains when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 5-1. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
