The Northeast Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Holy Ghost Prep with points to spare, taking the game 75-59. Given Northeast's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Holy Ghost Prep is ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Darrius Gaeta, who scored 22 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Those eight assists set a new season-high mark for he. Another player making a difference was Michael Freeman, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Northeast pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Holy Ghost Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Northeast is on the road again on Saturday and play against Cathedral Prep. As for Holy Ghost Prep, they will square off against La Salle College at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
