Evansville Central hasn't had much luck against Evansville North recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Evansville Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Evansville Central took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Princeton with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Evansville Central got a great performance from Katelyn Peterson as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Aubrie Durham and Kirstyn Tungate did most of the damage at the plate: Durham got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Tungate went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave Tungate a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Lowe, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Evansville Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Evansville North ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Mt. Carmel. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Evansville North got a massive performance out of Adalyn Dierlam, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Ripley Anderson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Evansville Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Evansville North, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
