Holly Hill Academy has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Holly Hill Academy came up short against Faith Christian and fell 56-49. Holly Hill Academy has not had much luck with Faith Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, St. John's Christian Academy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Cathedral Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Generals by a score of 73-71. While losing is never fun, St. John's Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Cathedral Academy is ranked 104th).
Brock Ray put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 19 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tradd Law, who scored 16 points.
Holly Hill Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for St. John's Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.
Holly Hill Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over St. John's Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, winning 82-75. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was St. John's Christian Academy's Wallace Hester, who made all 7 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 29 points and 2 assists. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Holly Hill Academy to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
