The Columbus Cardinals were the 38-27 winner over the Tidehaven Tigers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Columbus took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Friday. That's two games in a row now that Columbus has lost by exactly eight points.
Columbus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Karlee Mathis, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Sage Thomas, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Columbus has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 20-10 record this season. As for Tidehaven, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-11.
Columbus will take on the Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tidehaven, they will head out on the road to square off against the Brahmas at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hallettsville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 14 games.
