The Ainsworth Bulldogs waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They put the hurt on McCook with a sharp 71-50 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Ainsworth, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ainsworth got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Nelson out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Nelson has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Traegan McNally, who scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals.
Ainsworth's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for McCook, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Ainsworth will head out on the road to face off against the Broncos on Tuesday. As for McCook, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
