The Pine Hill Warriors won against the Laguna Acoma Hawks last Saturday with 74 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Pine Hill managed a 74-70 victory over the Hawks. The win was nothing new for Pine Hill as they're now sitting on four straight.
Leading Pine Hill to victory were Brett Baker and Channing James. Baker dropped a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds, while James scored 34 points along with five assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Martinez, who scored four points along with five assists and two steals.
Pine Hill's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Laguna Acoma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Hill will take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (To'hajiilee is ranked 102nd, while the Warriors are ranked 99th). As for Laguna Acoma, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on January 31st.
