Calallen has gone a perfect 9-0 against King recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Calallen is taking a road trip to face off against King at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Calallen has eight straight victories, King has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Calallen made easy work of Tuloso-Midway and carried off a 10-1 win. Considering the Wildcats have won 13 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordyn Thibodeaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Calallen let Braelyn Bailey and Brookelynn Meador run wild. Bailey went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Meador went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Meador is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Audryna Almaraz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Calallen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, King fell victim to Robstown and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Cottonpickers by a score of 2-0. That's two games in a row now that the Brahmas have lost by exactly two runs.
Calallen's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs on average over those games. As for King, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.
Everything went Calallen's way against King when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Calallen made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calallen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
