The Bethel Bison will head out on the road to square off against the Steilacoom Sentinels at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bethel has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with seven straight losses, while Steilacoom will come in with three straight victories.
Bethel fell victim to Emerald Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars.
Bethel got a good showing from Kingston Alderette, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Alderette has allowed since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Steilacoom never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Lakes. The result was nothing new for the Sentinels, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Keanan Ogilvie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ogilvie was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
In other batting news, Greyson Garza was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Bud Castaneda was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Steilacoom now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Bethel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bethel has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Steilacoom struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bethel couldn't quite finish off Steilacoom in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Bison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
