West Las Vegas took down Santa Fe Indian 38-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Pojoaque Valley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,210 from 12,455. The improvement came about via a 24-15 victory over the Elks/Elkettes last week.
Pojoaque Valley's dynamic duo of John Ainsworth and Juan Rios proved tough for Robertson to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ainsworth threw for 115 yards and Rios had 56 yards receiving. Ryan Koller helped Pojoaque Valley's passing attack out by catching three balls for 34 yards.
Dominic Lucero was the most productive running back in 3A District 2 this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 173 yards as the Cardinals fell to the Cardinals. James Gonzales III also contributed to the rushing game with 170 yards on the ground.
5-foot-11 quarterback Toby Henson of Raton is the league leader in passing yards this season with 898. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, Taos's Isaac Gonzales has rushed for 636 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Rios. The Pojoaque Valley star has 18 catches for 402 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Tigers take on the Tigers. Raton is currently in fifth, while Taos is in first.
The Dons led 3A District 2 in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on the Braves.
