The Hawkinsville Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Wilcox County Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hawkinsville will be strutting in after a win while Wilcox County will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Hawkinsville didn't have too much trouble with Treutlen on the road as they won 30-16. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hawkinsville.
Hawkinsville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Zenard Smith, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and Nieem Blair, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Wilcox County had to settle for a 28-25 loss against Dooly County on Friday. It was the first time this season that Wilcox County let down their fans at home.
Hawkinsville's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Wilcox County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Hawkinsville took a serious blow against Wilcox County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 46-6. Can Hawkinsville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
