The Winona Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Quitman 58-21. Winona has not had much luck with Quitman recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Winona still got an impressive performance from Lurbryson Ross, who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Quitman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Klayton Meadows, who rushed for 158 yards while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Crockett, who threw for 33 yards and two touchdowns.
Winona's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.4 points per game. As for Quitman, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Winona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Quitman also has no future games currently scheduled.
