The West Nassau Warriors's three-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They slipped by Yulee 42-41. The victory was just what West Nassau needed coming off of a 55-28 defeat in their prior matchup.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rheyna Hilton, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and eight blocks. Another player making a difference was Macey Reynolds, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Yulee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. This was only their eighth loss (out of nine games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
West Nassau's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-11. As for Yulee, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
West Nassau will head out on the road to square off against Baker County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yulee, they will be playing at home against Hilliard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
