Polytech extended their losing streak  to four  on Friday, dropping them down to 4-4. They had to suffer through  a    49-12 loss at the hands of the Odessa Ducks. The Panthers lost against the Ducks in their previous head to head  back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the  14-12 score last time.
As for Odessa, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
 A big part of Odessa's  victory came down to the chemistry between  Cooper Curran and his top target  Zakie Williams. Curran threw for 323 yards and five  touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes while  Williams picked up 163 receiving yards and a pair of  scores. Those  163  receiving yards gave  Williams a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget  Jayden Cheaton, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
 Looking ahead, Polytech will host Red Lion Christian Academy  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31  points  in their last six contests. As for Odessa, they will venture away from home to  square off against St. Mark's  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
