It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Loogootee had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Shakamak Lakers. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Alaina Diamond paced Loogootee's offense, picking up 27 kills. Diamond got some help from Aubrey Gilbert and her 25 assists. Jocelynn Sims controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Loogootee's record now sits at 14-16. As for Shakamak, with the defeat, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 22-8.
Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Loogootee and Springs Valley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Shakamak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
