Independence waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Solon Spartans with a sharp 13-4 win. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Independence's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Solon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Spartans beat Independence by a score of 11-6 later that day.
