The Oak Harbor Rockets had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Vermilion 62-34 at home. That 28 points margin sets a new team best for Oak Harbor this season.
Vermilion lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being AJ Gerber, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Kearns, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Oak Harbor's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Vermilion, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Harbor will take on Otsego at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vermilion, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Clearview at 7:30 p.m. Clearview is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
