MAIS AA District 5 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in MAIS AA District 5 this week, Adams County Christian beat Central Hinds Academy 28-7. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Brookhaven Academy lost to Simpson Academy 38-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Connor Dorman ran for 105 yards in the defeat.
Dorman was the best running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 105 yards as Brookhaven Academy fell to the Cougars. Landon Nettles also contributed to the rushing game with 71 yards on the ground.
Tripp McCarty's team's Heath Hickman and Brown led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Hickman has thrown for 1,294 yards this season, while Brown has 33 catches for 406 yards. Adams County Christian's Lester Wells leads the league in rushing yards with 829.
David King's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,924 from 5,345. The advance stemmed from a 28-7 victory over the Cougars last week.
