Even though the Kecoughtan Warriors have not done well against the Menchville Monarchs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Kecoughtan walked away with a 72-62 victory over Menchville. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kecoughtan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcel Pace, who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Suber, who scored 17 points.
The win got Kecoughtan back to even at 7-7. As for Menchville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Kecoughtan will be playing at home against West Springfield at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Springfield is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Menchville, they will head out on the road to challenge Kellam at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Kellam is ranked 63rd, while Menchville is ranked 79th).
