Gholson lost against the Bynum Bulldogs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Gholson fell 50-41 to Bynum. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Gholson came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 637th, while Bynum is ranked 1592nd).
Gholson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Salinas, who scored 25 points. Lane Kunkel was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Gholson and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Bynum, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Gholson will head out on the road to face off against Bynum at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bynum, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gholson at 6:00 p.m.
