The Alcovy Tigers waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 55-47 victory over Morrow. The victory was all the more spectacular given Alcovy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Morrow is ranked 94th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alcovy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendall Banks, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Banks is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Minah Little, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Alcovy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Morrow, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
Alcovy will be playing in front of their home fans against Jonesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Naislyvia Pringle and Banks. Morrow's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mundy's Mill at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Joshlynn Mcclarin and Mikayla Dunston.
