The Idalia Wolves won the last time they faced the Hi-Plains Patriots, and things went their way on Friday too. Idalia breezed by Hi-Plains at home to the tune of 73-6. The result was nothing new for Idalia, who have now won four matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Idalia found their leader in underclassman Gabe Kechter, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Brady Terrell , who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Idalia's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Hi-Plains and 3-6 Fleming (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.9% over those games). As for Hi-Plains, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Idalia will head out on the road to face off against Eads at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Eads' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Hi-Plains, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Prairie at 2:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Prairie is ranked 43rd, while Hi-Plains is ranked 68th).
