In what's become a running theme this season, the Foundation Academy Lions gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Trinity Christian Academy at home to the tune of 58-30. Winning may never get old, but Foundation Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Foundation Academy found their leader in underclassman Ava Chmielinski, who scored 25 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chmielinski has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lily Holloman, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and six steals.
Despite the defeat, Trinity Christian Academy had strong showings from Haylee Morelli, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Kaylin Spor, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 53.3% of Trinity Christian Academy's points, marking the 16th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Trinity Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Foundation Academy racked up 17 assists.
Foundation Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Foundation Academy will play host again and welcome Tohopekaliga, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tohopekaliga's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so Foundation Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. University comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
