Parker Bateman and Austin Orgeron provided fans with a highlight when they connected against San Marcos. The connection was good for 68 yards, the longest such play in 5A Region IV District 25 this season.
Smithson Valley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Judson, 45-28. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Rangers.
New Braunfels's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bateman threw for 203 and 1 touchdown and Orgeron had 102 yards receiving. On the ground Marcus Odell chipped in 64 yards. John Tysdal helped New Braunfels' passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 60 yards.

San Marcos' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rattlers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. TUCKER SMITH has thrown for 1,074 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while ZACH STERLING has 31 catches for 426 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Smithson Valley takes on second place Canyon. Smithson Valley beat the Rockets last week, while Canyon bested Wagner.

New Braunfels moved up to 348 from 430 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region IV District 25. Chuck Caniford's team was able to move up by topping San Marcos 24-7.
