The Inland Lakes Bulldogs waltzed into their match Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Rogers City by a score of 55-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Inland Lakes also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Inland Lakes' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Schoonmaker, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Schoonmaker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Noah Shugar, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Inland Lakes' win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Rogers City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Inland Lakes will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Cheboygan at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheboygan and Inland Lakes are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Rogers City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Heston Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Heston Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rogers City in Michigan (Heston Academy is ranked 300th, while Rogers City is ranked 609th).
