Southern Alamance has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Southeast Alamance Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Southern Alamance will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Southeast Alamance is ranked 47th).
On Thursday, it was a hard-fought match, but Southern Alamance had to settle for a 34-31 loss against Orange.
Morgan Isley put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Southeast Alamance was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past North Moore 56-16 at home. With that win, Southeast Alamance brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast Alamance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Lopez, who scored 16 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Lopez scored 15 or more points. Clara LaChapelle was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Southern Alamance's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3. As for Southeast Alamance, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Friday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Southern Alamance have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 16.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Southeast Alamance struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 31.2 rebounds per game. Given Southern Alamance's sizeable advantage in that area, Southeast Alamance will need to find a way to close that gap.
