Basketball Recap: Red Oak Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

Red Oak was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Cedar Hill on Monday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 76-52 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Jaxon Thomas was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 54% from the field on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high. Devan Kirk was another key player, putting up eight points along with nine boards and three steals.

Red Oak smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Red Oak pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34 points. As for Cedar Hill, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Red Oak will challenge Atascocita at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Hill, they will venture away from home to challenge Ennis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
