It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Biloxi Indians ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 24-23 win over Harrison Central. The victory was just what Biloxi needed coming off of a 42-21 defeat in their prior matchup.
Biloxi's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylan Johnson led the charge by gaining 92 total yards and two touchdowns. Tristan Haynes did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Tri Gaughf and Tyree Barnett certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Gaughf threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns, while Barnett picked up 107 receiving yards.
Biloxi's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Harrison Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Biloxi will head out on the road to face off against D'Iberville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. D'Iberville will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Harrison Central, they will be playing at home against Gulfport at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
