The Rapid City Christian Comets will head out on the road to take on the Belle Fourche Broncs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rapid City Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Rapid City Christian stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Alliance, posting a 79-49 victory on the road. Given Rapid City Christian's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in South Dakota, while the Bulldogs are ranked 193rd in Nebraska), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Belle Fourche's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 62-38 loss at the hands of Custer. Belle Fourche was down 51-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jet Jensen, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Sandoval, who scored eight points.
Rapid City Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Belle Fourche, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Rapid City Christian against the Broncs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 87-53 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Belle Fourche's Anthony Staley, who scored 21 points. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Rapid City Christian to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
