There's no place like home for the Anderson Indians, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 50-45 W over Richmond on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Anderson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Damien King continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Anderson's points. Javon Warfield was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Richmond lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cedric Horton. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braiden Hogg, who scored 11 points.
Anderson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Richmond, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-2.
Anderson will head out on the road to face off against the Giants at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Marion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Indians are ranked 30th). As for Richmond, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildkats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kokomo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 matches -- so hopefully the Red Devils like a good challenge.
