The Cactus Cobras will venture away from home to square off against the Paradise Honors Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cactus has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Cactus lost 12-2 to Ironwood on Friday. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cactus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ciara Anthony, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Paradise Honors came tearing into Friday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Wolves as they made off with an 18-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won nine matchups by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Charlotte Glenn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Meghan Stroh was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Marlee Freeman was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Paradise Honors kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Paradise Honors pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Cactus, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Cactus came up short against Paradise Honors when the teams last played back in March of 2022, falling 7-2. Can the Cobras avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
