Spring Valley will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Blythewood at 7:30 PM. Spring Valley are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
If Spring Valley were riding high off their 31-9 takedown of White Knoll two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Spring Valley took a serious blow against Sumter last Friday, falling 0-38. Spring Valley were down by 0-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
As for Blythewood, they had a rough outing against Sumter, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Blythewood were the clear victor by a 31-7 margin over Lugoff-Elgin. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Blythewood had established a 28-0 advantage.
Blythewood's win lifted them to 6-2 while Spring Valley's loss dropped them down to 5-3. We'll see if Blythewood can repeat their recent success or if Spring Valley bounce back and reverse their fortune.
