The Van Vleck Leopards were the 43-41 winner over the Boling Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Van Vleck fell 60-53 to the Bulldogs on Friday. Van Vleck has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Van Vleck lost, one person who can't be blamed is Corey Austin. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hector Mares, who scored six points along with four steals.
Van Vleck's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9. As for Boling, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Van Vleck will head out on the road to square off against the Brahmas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Bernard will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Boling will take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Danbury is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
