Softball Recap: Malvern Has No Trouble Against Magnet Cove

After only two runs in their last contest, Malvern made sure to put some runs up on the board against Magnet Cove on Monday. The Leopards blew past the Panthers 10-0. Considering the Leopards have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kendall Watson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Watson was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since March 3rd.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Takayla Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Reese Dedman, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Malvern hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.

Malvern's record is now 8-4. As for Magnet Cove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Malvern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Fountain Lake on the 1st. Magnet Cove has also already played their next game (against Woodlawn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
