Given Denver East's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Poudre is ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Poudre's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaden Cox, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Luke Foster who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Cox scored a full 38.2% of Poudre's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Denver East's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Poudre, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Denver East will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Fort Collins at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Poudre, they will square off against Vista Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Vista Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
