After four games on the road, Linn County is heading back home. They will take on the Green City Gophers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Linn County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 559th, while the Gophers are ranked 73rd).
Last Tuesday, Linn County was beaten by the Panthers 74-10. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Linn County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Green City came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Canton by a score of 54-47.
Green City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xander Salas out in front who scored 29 points along with three steals. Salas is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Buggs-Tipton, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Linn County's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Green City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.
