Baseball Recap: Williamson's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Williamson posted their closest victory since April 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Parker Thundering Herd 11-10.

The team relied heavily on Todrick Withers, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Williamson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Kameron Sanks was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Williamson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parker only posted an OBP of .405.

Williamson's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Parker, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Williamson Lions take on Monroe County Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Williamson is facing Monroe County at the right time seeing as Monroe County is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Parker, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-10 loss against Blount on the 26th.
